Wednesday report

Wednesday night and back in the house , thats no good for man nor beast plus that fact its 20 pounds less in my pay packet next week. The job has died on its arse my interest is now at zero.It seems that the only benefit is for those drivers that work days and want to get away early as they get the 54 hours and only work 40 or what ever and those that want to work more can't . The cost of going to Preston and back is crippling and the fact that the food I ve prepared for the week has now been ruined is just another blow.Dont get me wrong the job is a piece of piss - probably the easiest job I ve ever had , but for me the reward is in the pay packet at the end of the week and this one just doesent cut the mustard. I have also been told that the new Renaults will go to the drivers with the longest service - thats not what I was told when I had my interview and more to the point thats not why I have had a manual box with no air con for a full year without whinging about.

It's time to go full stop.

We are off to Whitby for a day trip this weekend so that should take my mind off things for a while.....watch this space for more up beat news

My run had changed on Friday - at first I was down to do a Hull , then they added a Grimsby to it.There were no times on either drop so I headed to Grimsby first then over the Humber to Hull with a reload at Featherstone. I had asked for TWO bridge tickets as the chances were when I set off that I may well have a reload in Immingham , as it happend I did'nt need the other one , as I left Leicester I said I would return the second if I did'nt need it - BUGGER me they rung to say I must hand in the spare ticket ASAP - have other drivers been selling them , are they in short supply or do they just not trust drivers - who knows I can't be arsed any more.

The big problem for me was that the two fridge trailers I picked up BOTH had out of date test discs, the first one had the wrong disc for that trailer on . I reported the first and marked it on my defect sheet to cover my arse and told the office of the second , I don't ring up and get patronized twice in one day.-I am one of the unlucky pricks that will get stopped and 'The office told me it was OK ' dosent cut it in a VOSA check point, and I get my balls busted for shity little things??

I did say when I first got this job that I would'nt turn into one of the sad disgruntled drivers like the main part that work here - but blow me down I have.

We did get to Whitby this weekend - to much to write down here so pop along to the photograph page and check it out for yourself
