£15.50 to cross the Severn Bridge,but the good news is that once you are over it you are in Wales.I had a pick up at a recycling plant near Newport.They could'nt load me until the morning that was the only down side.They had huge bales of squashed tin cans that looked a bit freaky.They were talking on the radio about the high cost of fuel in the UK and how Tescos or some other firms are going to use overseas firms to reduce costs at some RDC's.Why not just drop the price of fuel here so that UK hauliers can at least play on an even pitch?I have spoken to a Belgium driver who comes over on a Monday,tootals up and down all week on one tank 1500 lts and back over to Belgium Thursday with a load ready to come back over on Monday,loves it cheaper tax,no tolls and cheaper fuel but still manages to charge top whack but still that little bit cheaper than any UK based haulier. The tin can cubes look like a Borg ship ......My favorite killing machine on any TV show but still not my weapon of choice,give me a sharp opinel any day of the week.



Down to the smoke then and over the QE2,I love nothing better than sitting in line waiting to pay that toll its not so bad clockwise but I always get caught out anti clockwise.Had a drop in Dartford,its about as near as I can go into London as my lorry is too smelly for Uncle Ken.More to the point its as near as I bloody want to go!!


After a week of no HGV pictures I seem to have gone click click crazy,I was at a sand quarry over night and had bags of time to spare as the noisy swine were still farting around with bleepers bleeping until 22:00.I sat on the weigh bridge in the morning first in the line and waited for the all clear to get my six pallets on. I was thinking about Platoon and other such films and all the books I had read all about vietnam and came to the conclusion that fanatical terrorist warfare is unwinable unless all of the fanatical terrorists and thier mates are killed what got me on this bizare train of thought was that at one drop I said to the booking in clerk ... 'you number one book in clerk,you book me in looooong time' in what I thought was a good impresion of a stereo typical 1960's vietnamise hooker,went back to my cab and chuckled to my self,is this onset of male menopause who knows and frankly who cares but I do seem to have the strangest of thoughts driving up and down.

		I need a better camera and may well ask Tony Dillon how much he would sell me his old one for,but then that would set me off on the track of lenses and bags and flash guns and all the rest.The K800i is ok and the Powershot are OK but they just dont cut the mustard with some of the stuff I see,add this to the fact that the Northern Rock is in better financial state than us at the minute it would'nt go down to well with Jo either.

	Top tip here - when loading a step frame trailer with working internal lights,dont put the bog roll pallet below it? Jo will 33 this year and she got a load of cakes,trifle,quiche and a DS Lite.
