Well I lost my bet - it won't happen again as I will be working for D.C.L in Garstang again, yeah I know the firm I spat my dummy out for the last time (over a £5.77 phone bill on a locked phone) it all boils down to manners last time £5.77, this time for the piss being taken out of me.Well the devil makes work for idle hands as I rang D.C.L up when I was waiting for my load at Haltwhistle .That same weekend I met an Italian driver and I made him a puka cupa coffee and as he was skint he was realy gratefull,to cut a long story short he told me that he is out for THREE MONTHS at a time ,just going from drop to drop.I look at the crap I take for a week away ie food, etc. and I would hate to think how much I would take for three months, saying that I would love to do it.Canada would be good as I can speak the lingo , any one out there up for a job swap?

So my time with the Scottish firm is at an end,it was interesting and also informative. When I first started I said I would give it at least a year and thats what they had.The thing that struck me was the quality of some of the drivers - Greg whos link is on this page is a top top man, smart, polite and shows a genuine interest in the job ie fuel figures and routes all for no reward.Stewart the Scotish route planner always one step ahead, thinking fast and polite stuck in what must be the most thankless job on gods earth and lastly the fork truck driver at St Helens who always makes you welcome and gets you loaded as quick as a flash. I would like to think that my bridges are still intact and that should I spit out my dummy again the door would be open for my return,so thats why I will not name the firm as instructed on the snotty letter sent way back when.

Onto other stuff now - I parked at Cherwell Valley this week and was gobsmaked at the Willi Betz massed ranks,I was like a big red zit in a sea of blue and yellow when I parked up,all the Betz drivers were flip flopping around in shorts supping cheap wine and beer. But it is regulated by country which made me laugh, with the Chechs ruling the roost.

It was Jessicas Birthday this Saturday and we tried our best to make it special for her,Jo stayed up wrapping the presents and cutting out a 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSICA' banner out of holographic card and I made cakes with Rebecca while Jess was at Gymnastics. She had asked for a Nintendo DS Lite with the brain traing game so thats what she got as we know she will look after it.We also had one of her friends round and a BBQ to round off the day.

Emily had a girly day by going to the Cinema in Lancaster with two of her friends, new outfit and a purse full of dollars, she went to see Mr Beans Holiday and she seemed to love it.
