| Here we go then a week back in the U.K,which was nice as it was bonfire weekend and also we all we needed to build the worlds best monkey swing down by the river. We let off a small fortune in fireworks at my dads then went and watched the main Garstang show over on the field down by the river.
I also made a huge tub of treacle toffee for the office staff in the rear with the gear in Garstang.
The beauty of Cornwall was'nt lost on me,it was a clear sunny November day.I caused a problem in Looe as I was looking for the Garden Centre.I fell for the 'LOOE GARDEN CENTRE NEXT TURN' trick.Well in Cornish that means 'take the next little dirt track that youve just passed and dont whatever you do drive up on the main road into Looe' - it was when I saw car drivers looking at in total disbelief that I knew I had gone wrong. One even came up and asked if it was my Sat Nav that had brought me up there - to which I replied 'nope it was the LOOE GARDEN CENTRE NEXT TURN sign that had brought me up there.Well to cut a long story short I managed to get out without hitting anything and thanked everyone involved in my escape. There was a crash on the M6 on the way back up,sometimes you see cars on the road and you just know that they are trouble.I noticed a 7.5 t truck and a transit van from the same firm in convoy going northbound and I also noticed that they were a bit close together.Behold a little further on and the transit van is kissing the crash barrier on the central reservation.ONLY A FOOL BREAKS THE TWO SECOND RULE - take a lamp post or a sign on the road, when the car in front of you passes the sign or whatever then count one thousand two thousand ,if you pass the same sign before you reach two thousand then you are two close to the car in front.
Its my Birthday this week and hopefully I will have some hand painted/drawn cards from the girls,Emily hates my guts as her freedom has been cut down to size with me being home, she even sulked on bonfire night as I had brought her home from her mates as there was no adult supervision. It's tough being 12 even tougher when your dad remembers what kind of shit he got up to when he was 12! I am very very impressed with the BT OPENZONE at various service stations in the UK,with my broadband package I get so many minutes of WiFi from openzone. No I did'nt know if this would work or not,so it was fantastic when I got to WiFi point on the M5 and it worked. Birthday Treats Its my birthday and Iwill cry if I want to.....but not this time.I was still reeling from a crappy wage packet last week so both Jo and myself treated each other to new phones as a Birthday/Crimble present each.I had my eyes on a K800i for a while, mainly for the 3.2mp cyber shot camera and now that the price had dropped below £100 I made my move.Jo got a flip top Walkman phone which because it take video young Jessica Spielberg has asked if Santa could get her one for Christmas. My present off Emily was a selection of her treasured photos (she wants them back ) and they all go back to much happier times in her life, she also made me a card which is very touching.I also baked this years Christmas Cake and you can see a scan of the family cook book by clicking here |
