| Woo Hoooo Bernards back,we caught MOONDANCE over whilst the Springboks whooped the Pumas. The South African driver onboard enjoyed every single minute I may add.Straight into it this week,a handfull of drops with new shop fittings. The shops were pigs to deliver to.The one Boucher Road was a treat,as I had a tail lift trailer it took time to set it up blah blah.Every time I was just about to get the stuff off some joker wanted to get past,so I had to put it all back drive round the block set it all up again - it was a nightmare.
I had a drop near Newtonards, and whilst I was down on the beach stretching my legs I noticed a duck in the seaweed. Now I had seen somewhere that a ship had lost its load of ducks years ago and they were getting washed up all over the world?I went down and picked it up and noticed a number on the base,a quick look around and I found 3 more, all with numbers on.So I concluded that these were escaped race ducks. The question remains - where did they come from? I ran out my time on the N15 heading towards Donegal and Sligo, there is a layby here and as I knew there are no more I stopped here. Its in a valley and there is a stream running below. As it was still light I treated myself to sausage and mash for tea and listened to Russia kick Englands ass in the football.
It was then down to Tubbercurry, and the N17 in freezing fog.Now you tell me why car drivers still tailgate you even in fog on slippy roads? I try and pull over and let them past as often as I can,but if they are right up my arse I can't do this. After Tubbercurry it was off to Balinamore via Carrick on Shannon.A single track trudge but through gorgeous countryside.Whilst I was there another british driver wanted directions to Dublin from there as he had just come from Cavan and he was not a happy bunny because all the roads were single track and pigs to drive on - BIENVENUE to Ireland - I could of shown sympathy but his attitude stank.
The picture dosent do the scene credit,I love the cold and if the weather forcast says it will be dry I often sleep with the sunroof wide open to maximise the coldness.Little Rebecca has drawn Jack Frost running around Cheshire painting the hedges last year, and you can see this by clicking here.
On Saturday I went to Brendans house to see about doing a site for his two self catering cottages, they are cracking. With views over Down and the border. Both within driving distance of both Dublin and Belfast. So keep popping in and see how Iam doing with that.In the mean time if you are interested in them heres a couple of photos. The thought has crossed my mind about bringing the family over to Ireland rather than North Wales for a holiday, there is so much to see and the country is realy beautiful, but the Welsh blood flowing in me has a strong pull.
![]() ![]() On Sunday we both went looking for reception for the Grand Prix on our tellys,we ended up up Narrow Water layby at Warrenpoint.Even here we were unable to get a decent picture so it was hotdogs all around and then look forward to listening to it on 5live radio.
Nearly all the leaves have turned now, this bush was at the side of the road in Newry. It looked like it was on fire the colours were that vivid or is that my imagination that was vivid? This week saw me on my travels in and around the Cavan area along with a quick trip down to Cork with a tank for a farm. The farm I went to had CCTV for the barn which I thought was pretty cool, this all linked to the house.I got to the farm just at milking time( I thought I might get tipped) but I had to wait as the farmer was on his Jack.
I had a run on Irish Bank Holiday Friday, now you don't know traffic until you have seen this.It took me over an hour to through Moate,I thought there had been a crash, but no it was just clogged up in the town centre. What did'nt help were the jokers collecting for the telethon at the cross roads.I would of thought that the Garda would of put the further up the jam and away from the main pinch point in the town.I did cough up some loose change as the money raised here in Ireland stays in the actual county it was raised in and as I love the area around Moate I was happy to help - unlike the UK telethons where more often than not the cash goes outside the bloody country let alone the county.
Now heres a picture of the best fisherman at Warrenpoint.
The weather has now turned so not only is it cold but now it is getting wet, this rainbow is on the run in from the Sexy South to the Naughty North. The sun was just starting to set and the rain had brought out all the smells of the season.
