The 2007 school photograph,Emily was included and it looks ok,young Jessica was stuffing chocolate spread down her neck seconds before the picture was taken, and thats why she has a very smug look on her face.I missed Jessicas gym meeting in Warrington ,she did very well and she has now taken the huge choice of dropping swimming and going all out on the gymnastics..

We had a family birthday treat for Rebecca this weekend,we got a huge sub from DCL and went to Blackpool to blow the lot on a day out.We went to the Sandcastle water park on the South Beach at Blackpool. We got a family AAA ticket and had a cracking day.

|
With only 48 hours at home speed was esential,Emily wanted a hotpot for dinner on Sunday and I had a big toffee order for Groves and DCL.Sunday was spent over a hot stove. The first batch of toffee had to be binned as it had turned to fudge but the second batch was perfection. The hot pot was cooked to a recipe from my mums cook book and was in turn her mothers.

It was then over to Ireland on the Sunday night boat,no cabin on my own so it was a night on the setee, the cab of the lorry was full to brim with food and clothes for the trip which should take me up to Christmas.Speaking of which we have put our THREE trees up - thats the beauty of going to car boot fairs in summer - and so have Warrenpoint. The SS CLAUS is now lit up and looks pretty good.

The tree was 4 snoots off the boot fair - fibre optic colour changing tacky tat but the girs and the cat love it so all in all a good buy.

First day in Ireland and it was two drops to a building site muddier than the Somme at the peak of the fighting, that will teach me to leave my brush at home.It was to a new prison which was interesting,I even got the chance to go and have a look at one of the cells, all on suite but realy tiny, you could'nt swing a cat in one. There were loads of rabbits there and I saw a huge buzzard flying around. So I left there shit up to the neck and now my cab is full of mud and its only day one of a three week trip.

Back down in the sexy south with a multi drop around Limerick and Galway with a reload in Cong.Galway Harbour is slap bang in the middle of town.Had I have known I would be sat on my arse for an hour I would of got my fishing rod out and had a quick spin.Still taken all the pictures with the K800i and still up loading as I go to my new Blogger account.I have also been ordering most of the Christmas presents on line with Amazon over the phone - one pound a day surfing with vodafone in the north. There is a top tip about Galway, and that is that there is a low bridge blocking the road to the docks - its 13'10 for people who need to know..

It had rained al day and all night, the beach was full of debris washed down by the river. From dead hogweed to plastic palms. The best thing about it was that the air was realy clean.Riverdance was making her way into port after a windy crossing.I then went off to Narrow Water to take a couple of photographs of the castle.

The Sunday dinner was a two bean chilli con carne, packet mix I am afraid to say but again only the best meat and beans were used.Got a 9/10 out of Bernard and hopefully the rest of the huge panfull will get tastier as it festers in my fridge overnight ready for tomorrows tea.

My week has ended in tradegy, the clutch went on the lorry on Friday.I had to limp back to Warrenpoint on a wing and a prayer. The big blow is that this was the last weekend before Christmas and I needed to bank as much as I could.I had set off with a nice drop in Cork with a view to maybe reload in Cong or back to the point for a load and run in Saturday or set of Sunday with a massive wedge of cash in my pocket only to be kicked in the knackers.Seamus had asked the mechanics to see if there was chance of a little adjustment in the clutch but this was knocked as soon as I told them the symptoms. So my last photograph this week is of the truck and the monkey looking forlorn on the quayside waiting for the Moondance to take us home.

There is one more picture and that is of the frost on the leaves of some plant on the hard shoulder on the N7 near Roscrea - not bad for a picture taken with a camera phone?
