Dear Mr Jones,
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to view your website www.jonester.co.uk.
Whilst, I have not had the opportunity to review the entire site, I have to express concern regarding some of the contents. Your website contains a lot of information about our customers, the type of goods we carry and the frequency with which some deliveries are made. However, the publication of such information creates a number of difficulties.
It is a breach of the Company's computer and communications policies to employ Company's trading names, any of its trade marks, service marks or logos without the explicit written permission of the company. In addition, the publication of material on a website regarding the company, its employees, customers or suppliers or other related information without explicit written permission constitutes a further breach of the above policies.
As far as I am aware, no such permission has been granted and I consider it extremely unlikely that it would be granted. The publication of such information could be potentially damaging from a commercial point of view were it to fall into the hands of our competitors. From a security perspective, if the information contained on your website were to be acquired by criminal factions, this could put yourself, your colleagues and our customers' goods at risk from potential thieves.
Whilst I am sure this information has been posted with the best of intentions, its publication does present security and commercial difficulties for the organisation. In view of the above, I am therefore writing to request that you remove all references to ??????????? Ltd from your website within seven days of the date of this letter. This includes all text references to ???????, images of ????? equipment and any images portraying ???????? property or the property of ??????? customers.
Full details of the company policies referred to above are contained in the Employee Handbook. Your Contract Manager holds a copy and, should you require further information, it is available for inspection at Preston depot.
