About me and my work
I have always been a driver/manager in a transport related environment,I left school with no qualifications as such , or rather should I say none to be proud of,life in Darlington in the 80's was grim to say the least. After a spell selling shoes I packed my bags and bounced a few cheques and set of to make a name for myself in France.

I spent 4 years working for the French Army, doing all kinds of stuff, from bridge building in the jungle to driving across T'Chad to protect French bases near the Lybian border. It was here that I passed my first driving test and also my mechanics course. No mean feat for someone who could'nt speak a word of French before he left.

I came back to England after meeting a lady who found me a home, work and a future all without strings attached. We are no longer together however we are still good friends but have gone our own ways. After a spell working as a driver in London for White Arrow Express I met my wife Jo of 10 years and moved with the company to Worcester.By now I was manager for the heavy goods section of the company.Did my C.P.C national and helped to build the Worcester depot into the model for the rest of the group.

I then moved up to Garstang with the family and passed my H.G.V -in England this time.Got a job as the transport manager for a wholesale meat firm in Blackpool but then foot and mouth came along and put paid to that.A spell working for a local firm and now a spell working for a national firm.So thats it 39 years into a bite sized chunk. All I can say is that driving is probably the most chilled out job I have ever had, the only down side is that I am right gut bucket now.

NEWS - Now back at D.C.L in Garstang after yet again spitting my dummy out of the cab,at least this time I sorted out a job before stomping off - on the down side I lost out by about £4000 by joining the national firm for the year.

Hey heres a copy of the exact letter sent to me about my original site - that was if I must say was very good indeed - so take this as a word of warning all you budding web site people......

Dear Mr Jones,

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to view your website www.jonester.co.uk.

Whilst, I have not had the opportunity to review the entire site, I have to express concern regarding some of the contents. Your website contains a lot of information about our customers, the type of goods we carry and the frequency with which some deliveries are made. However, the publication of such information creates a number of difficulties.

It is a breach of the Company's computer and communications policies to employ Company's trading names, any of its trade marks, service marks or logos without the explicit written permission of the company. In addition, the publication of material on a website regarding the company, its employees, customers or suppliers or other related information without explicit written permission constitutes a further breach of the above policies.

As far as I am aware, no such permission has been granted and I consider it extremely unlikely that it would be granted. The publication of such information could be potentially damaging from a commercial point of view were it to fall into the hands of our competitors. From a security perspective, if the information contained on your website were to be acquired by criminal factions, this could put yourself, your colleagues and our customers' goods at risk from potential thieves.

Whilst I am sure this information has been posted with the best of intentions, its publication does present security and commercial difficulties for the organisation. In view of the above, I am therefore writing to request that you remove all references to ??????????? Ltd from your website within seven days of the date of this letter. This includes all text references to ???????, images of ????? equipment and any images portraying ???????? property or the property of ??????? customers.

Full details of the company policies referred to above are contained in the Employee Handbook. Your Contract Manager holds a copy and, should you require further information, it is available for inspection at Preston depot.
