Ireland 2005 - I was working for D.C.L in Garstang and was sent over to Ireland to cover for a couple of weeks.

Ireland was fantastic, from the slums of London and Birmingham to the green fields of Ireland was a nice change. Not only do you get cooked meals on the ferry over but if you are lucky you get a cabin with a shower all to yourself and two free tins of beer - result.

You are based on the docks at Newry and just deliver stuff all over the country piece of piss I think the term is.If you are anything like me you make job just how good you want to - I was lucky enough to see huge dry stone walls in County Limerick,Dublin and the north coast around Galway. As I did in France I took it all in like a sponge. The lasting memory is of the graveyard where tinkers had robbed the old lead coffins and left the bones just lying around and also of the night eating fresh mussels with Bernard when we were both worse for wear with the Guiness. All in all a cracking couple of weeks , would go back tommorow but I belive you need to speak Polish now to get by in Ireland?.
