| The three P's strike again - PISS POOR PLANNING - a full week of fun and games,13 and 14 hour days reduced rest only to get stuffed on a Friday.I get told to reduce my daily rest to get in the yard for 04:00 only to sit around for hours as the load was cancelled or there were no trailers.To happen once is a shame but to happen twice is shocking.To cap it all I was late going out on my Friday run and the places I was going to were shut,one was on a new estate that I needed directions for,it was here I found out that they are running Autoroute 2001!!!! when I asked another office what version of Autoroute they had the answer came back as 'MICROSOFT' -Wheres the ANY KEY sprung to mind.I sugested ringing 118 118 and getting directions but this option was far to simple and rather than do this I was given a postcode that came up in the middle of knowhere and nowhere near the drop.Have fuel will drive?
Shame as the week had gone ok up until then,nice runs and quick reloads,the hours were long but there was no time to waste and the fact that the service station had working showers made it bearable.The other gripe is delivering to places that have incorrect or incomplete details,if you have to make the delivery in another street why not just mark this on the POD so you don't get HGV wagons going down residential areas and tight one way streets?There were two of us doing exactly the same thing.If I was inclined to go back into office work again they would'nt know what had hit them. |
